V Transmission are a post-punk, new wave, alternative rock band from Manchester whose meticulously crafted music makes them true professionals in their field. With Andy Boucher, on vocals/lead guitar/keyboards, John Anson on keyboards/guitar/ vocals, Stuart Campbell/vocals/ bass guitar and Yves Altana on drums/percussion, V Transmission have soon gained a reputation for being an energetic and dedicated live band, gaining a loyal fan base in the process. Having been busy working on their first album, V Transmission have released a single called “Silence The Guns”, which has been nominated my “Single of the Week”.
With its customised relayed narration and military backdrop, “Silence The Guns” broods with an intensity creating an understated cinematic presentation. It’s a great song whose ambient synths are reminiscent of 80s new wave. Along with the rippling riffs , “Silence The Guns” sits comfortably in the recesses of post punk reminiscent of The Police and early U2. Through its oscillating riffs, “Silence The Guns” swoons and preens in all its windswept glory, tilting it towards a classic rock arena. What’s great about “Silence The Guns” is it really feels like a trip down memory lane, reminding us of everything which is refreshing about new wave and post punk, whilst creating a modern day interpretation. The sleek vocals and elevated synths that “Silence The Guns”creates a commanding grandiose likened to The Psychedelic Furs, The Chameleons and The Associates, whilst drawing you to the solemn sentiments of the song.
