Originally founded by Robert L. Pepper in Brooklyn in 1995, Pas Musique now functions as a four-piece, that also includes Jon V Worthley, Michael Durek and Jesse Fairbairn. As a musical collective, Pas Musique have continued to go from strength to strength, touring across the globe and creating a solid fan bass. With an impressive back catalogue of Singles, EPs and Albums, Pas Musique are a creative force that consistently innovates and keeps the spirit of krautrock working 24/7.
With an album in the pipeline, Brooklyn based Pas Musique gives us a glimpse of what’s to come with their new single “Ancient Scottish Legend”. It’s a track that pushes the boundaries of electronic, dance and trance music, opening the doors to endless possibilities, crossovers and intermix of genres. From industrial to nu metal, to dark wave, “Ancient Scottish Legend” transcends an underground ambience popular in Germany and the 70s and revived across the globe in the tale end of the 80s and early 90s.
It’s music that abstractly oils the wheels of a menacing machine, that prowls, preys and lurks in the nebulous corners of our minds. Idiosyncratic, chaotic and delightfully disjointed, “Ancient Scottish Legend” is a sonic exploration, a free-styling work of art, which rips up the rule books and redefines electronic music. Through the thunderous beats and throbbing synths, “Ancient Scottish Legend” creates a duality of darkness, whilst disco-dancing with the devil.
As of 25th August 2021, “Ancient Scottish Legend” will be available via the label’s Bandcamp.
On 1st October 2021, the full “Amateur Radio” LP will be released digitally and on white vinyl as a limited edition pressing. It will be available across online stores and streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music, and can be pre-ordered at https://alrealonmusique.bandcamp.com.
