Sometimes less is more and sometimes more is more. With The Persian Leaps, you kind of get two bands for the price of one. On one hand when you listen to The Persian Leaps you are instantly taken back to a time of 90’s Low-fi, Power-pop, Jangly-pop and college rock, reminiscent of bands such as Pavement, Teenage Fanclub and The Lemonheads.
Whereas, on the other hand, you get a band which is deeply rooted in the alt-rock of blues, glam, mod and garage, who possess an iron-will for justice, truth and freedom. So, in a nutshell, The Persian Leaps are your quintessential guitar-laden band, whose catchy and melodic riffs capture their angst, with an understated cool, whilst remaining Champions of the Underdog. They are a band who evoke a sense of nostalgia, youthful yearnings and belonging, whilst remaining true to themselves. Not a one-trick pony, The Persian Leaps are a band that collide with the DIY ethos of Post-punk and drizzle from the murky waters of dirty grunge.
With Drew Foresberg on vocals, guitar, keyboards, drum-programming, and John Hunt on vocals and bass, The Persian Leaps have been busy in the studio, working on their forthcoming EP, “Drone Etiquette” (released on October 1st 2021 via Land Ski Records), and are back with a new track “When This Gets Out“. Lyrically astute and thought-provoking, “When This Gets Out” is politically driven, a by-product of the Pandemic, music through a mega-phone that makes you stand up and listen. Through the crunchy, robust riffs and fleeting piano strums, The Persian Leaps catapult their consciousness into the realms of Honky Tonk-blues-rock, creating a hybrid of Rolling Stones, Primal Scream, Queens of The Stone-Age meeting half way to create third-wave noise-pop that Hüsker Dü would be envious of. Along with the raucous vocals and pulsating beats, “When This Gets Out” invigorates the stomper-stoner-rock spirit, without having to visit the Mosh-pit.
“When This Gets Out” is released on 19th August 2021
“When This Gets Out” will be available exclusively via Bandcamp.
On October 1st 2021, the full ‘Drone Etiquette’ album will be released on CD and online platforms, including Apple Music and Spotify. It is already available for pre-order via Bandcamp.
