Circuit 3 (aka AKA Peter Fitzpatrick) is a synth-pop artist from Dublin, whose pristine and smooth music impeccably ignites the swirly whirly sonics of art-rock, that orbits to the satellite stations of prog rock. Led by the vocals of Peter Fitzpatrick and harmonised with the additional vocals of Alessia Turcato, Circuit 3 puts the sci-fi theatrics back into synth-pop, that travels to the infinite frontiers of new wave to create a grandiose of space-rock.
Signed to Manchester label Analogue Trash, Circuit 3 debuted with the ‘siliconchipsuperstar’ LP (2018), followed by the album The Price Of Nothing & The Value Of Everything (2019), as well as releasing a remix of Rodney Cromwell’s ‘Opus Three’ in 2022. A master of his craft, Circuit 3 has been busy working on his album Technology For The Youth, which has already received rave reviews. Released on July 15th 2022, Technology For The Youth, will feature the track Future Radio, which has been selected as my Single Of The Day.
Future Radio is an immaculate production, whose stellar synths flicker between the channels of synth-pop and picks up the muffled signals from new wave in an indie-pop network. It’s a retro-cool track that connects to the antenna of art-rock, whilst taking a quantum leap to prog-rock. Think Duran Duran meets Jeff Wayne, OMD, Daft Punk, Paul Hardcastle, with Human League having a date at a dystopian Disco then you get the idea. It’s a track that trudges and turbos through the traffic of Krautrock and floats through a dazy dry ice ambience. It’s a 70s/80s revival of robotic reverberation, glitzy harmonies, surfing the wonky waves of synth-pop, whilst space-hopping on the brisk bleeps of electronica.
