The Noise Who Runs are a UK/France duo, whose chilled-out angst, and lo-fi melancholy, push the parameters of alternative rock. An intermix of electronic and rock, The Noise Who Runs, are euphorically trippy, upliftingly melancholic that dance in a reverie rave of new-wave trance.

Comprised of Ian Pickering on vocals, electric guitar and keyboard and Felipe Goes on electric guitars and keyboards, The Noise Who Runs are your tribal trailblazers of electronica, that run freely between the many pathways of post-punk, whilst awakening from the drowsy daze of dream-pop.

What’s great about The Noise Who Runs is their eclectic range of electronica that journeys into the past archives of synth-pop, dances in the haze of darkwave, and judders from the aftermath of the 90s club scene. Nostalgic, transcendental and progressive, The Noise Who Runs, meditates in the backrooms of neo-psychedelia, whilst swirling in a fusion of funky dub and acid-jazz.

Taken from their latest album “Preteretrospective”, released on 21st April 2023, The Noise Who Runs have released their track “2Poor2Die” which has been selected as The Manc Review’s “Single Of The Day”. As the co-author of such hits as ‘Spin Spin Sugar’, ‘6 Underground’ and ‘Tesko Suicide’, Pickering is no stranger to creating music that captures the zeitgeist spirit of its time and through his latest offering maintains that high calibre of music.

2Poor2Die stays true to the combatant voice of alternative rock that descends into the undergrowth of post-punk and preens under the spotlights of new wave. It’s a track that broods and prowls in the darkness of its shadows, whilst projecting a beacon of light. Through the sullen vocals and angular riffs, 2Poor2Die, revives the DIY ethos of punk, whilst quietly protesting in the archives of politically infused angst. It’s a great track, that is testament to The Noise Who Runs’ ability to convey emotions with a lo-fi ambience of goth-rock that lingers, resonates and dissipates in the urban decay of reality.
