Single Of The Day – “Do’Oa” by Evidence Of A Struggle

Evidence of a Struggle is a multi-instrumentalist artist aka Rev. Billy from Chicago, whose intermix of Krautrock, art-rock, post-punk, drum and bass, Trip-hop, rock, and industrial-tinged music, alternates between the realms of alternative-rock. He’s a mass of talent, whose music floats between the conscious, sub-conscious and hidden corners of the soul. Formed in 2020, during the pandemic, Evidence of a Struggle, has been busy in his home studio, “The Glue Factory”, and whose track “Do’Oa” has been selected as The Manc Review’s “Single Of The Day”.

Featured on the forthcoming 13-track eponymous album, to be released on June 9th 2023, Do’Oa is an eclectic ever-evolving stream of sonics, whose piano slams and drum beats in the backroom of drum and bass, whilst being hijacked by the preening riffs of melodic riffs. Vocal free and visceral, Do’Oa conveys its sentiments, emotions and thoughts in a hypnotic wave of abstract and lateral loops. It’s a sublime track, that steps away from the clichés of alternative rock and creates an original and individualistic catharsis.
