Single Of The Day - "Filha Do Vento" by Bike

Bike are an alternative rock band from Brazil, whose visceral vocals, stellar strums, aloof acoustics, fuzzy ambience, and blustering beats goes back to the source of psychedelia and revives its sunshine mysticism. Bike ride down the embankments of garage rock, whilst dazzled by the lucid lights of ethereal rock. They are a captivating bands, whose hazy hues, brooding tension, fuzzy riffs and extended intervals, creates a fluidity of improvisation and a colourful landscape of abstract art. They are a band that lounges in the lazy days of exotic escapism and awakens from the hallucinatory haze of acid rock. Think early Pink Floyd having a few beers with The 13th Floor Elevators and The Brian Jonestown Massacre, then you get an idea of their vibrant and 3D dimensions.

Taken from their album “Arte Bruta“, released on May 5th 2023 “Filha Do Vento” translated as “Daughter of the Wind” has been selected as The Manc Review’s “Single Of The Day”. It’s a track that crashes like a powerful meteorite from the skies of space-rock, whilst rocketing to the ethereal heights of neo-psyche. It’s a mesmerising track that revives the chaos and charm of 60s garage rock whilst day-tripping in the basements of garage rock. It’s a track that goes deep into the soul of psychedelica and dances in the sunset of its shadows. Through the flickers of aloof riffs, descending drones and pulsating beats, Filha Do Vento evokes a sense of a whimsical stream of consciousness likened to Syd Barrett, whilst crashing in the wilderness of acid rock.
