Single Of The Day - "You'll Be Fine" by Seal Party

Seal Party are a collective from San Francisco whose individual brand of neo-soul, pitter-patters in the swirly strums of synth-pop, prog-rock, new wave, neo-gospel, prog-rock and surrenders to the wayward tones of neo-psychedelia. They are an act where anything goes, and their music is led by its whimsical charm and ever-changing moods of emotions. Shimmery and intense, Seal Party are the life and soul in powerhouse, whilst stomping in the sidelines of mod, sophisti-pop, funk and orchestral pop. They are sheer quality, whose music seduces the senses and revitalises the intangible sensuality of music, reuniting mind, body and soul.

Through the velvet tones and soaring vocal arrangements, Seal Party showcase the all or nothing approach to making music and their ability to fuse an array of genres. Like improvised innovators, Seal Party can switch from the classicism of soul to the urban soundscape of rap and spoken word in a flash, and deliver with such easy-going finesse. They are purveyors of comfort outside their comfort zone, masters of mixing the old with the new and creating spacious interludes that overlap both stylistically and through the time zones of music.

Following up the success of singles ‘Maison’ featuring R&B organ wizard Chris Rob (Kanye West, Stevie Wonder, John Legend, Anita Baker) and the soul-infused piano-based ‘Kaleka’, and release of their debut album ‘MMXXII’, Seal Party have released their latest song “You’ll Be Fine”, which has been selected as the Manc Review’s “Single Of The Day”.

Released on 30th September 2022, You’ll Be Fine is the perfect closing track of a remarkable album. that calms the chaos and remedies the soul. It’s a track whose smooth violins, piano slams, strums, and velvet vocals, ponders in the rainy days of baroque rock, whilst glimpsing at the stars. It’s a bittersweet symphony, that parades its withered sprit through a Mariachi march of torpid trumpets and wallows in the darkest of storms. It’s a fleeting affair, that dwells in the ouevre of Orchestral pop, and nestles in the shadows of neo-classicism.
